What People Say About Dr. Levi Deters, MD

I was referred to Dr. Deters by my primary care physician due to a rising PSA over time. Initial biopsy did not indicate an issue. Approximately 2 yrs. later with PSA continuing to rise, Dr. Deters used a 3T MRI scan overlay for the ultrasound biopsy. This indicated an issue. After reading a book provided by Dr. Deters, he agreed with my assessment that radical prostatectomy was the best option. I was happy to learn that Dr. Deters preferred the Laparoscopic surgery. Surgery was scheduled and Dr. Deters performed the surgery at Holy Family hospital. The surgery was a success and I was released the next day. I did not need pain medicine. The catheter from surgery was removed after one week, but was re-three-days later when I had issues urinating. This was removed after another week and I am recovering well, even doing desk work and normal eating. I have high regard for Dr. Deters and his team.

Dr. Deters is a good surgeon and a very nice man. He went out of his way to help me with a suprapubic catheter when other urologists would or could not. I'd highly recommend him.

Dr. Deters conducted robotic assisted (DaVinci) prostatectomy on me. He was very informative, caring, and calming during our pre-procedure consultation. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and recommend Dr. Deters highly.

An excellent Urology specialist. He recently removed my prostrate robitically and he made it a pretty darn easy procedure for one who had never been operated on before. Dr Deters is a caring professional. I recommend him highly.

It took a long time to be seen due to a lack of providers (retirement of MDs); but once I was able to be seen, everything was great! Dr. Deters was kindhearted, skilled, and went the extra mile to provide for my comfort postop. He also is very knowledgeable about kidney stone formation and is treating the cause of this. My previous provider in this office said he had never heard of my type of stone, likened himself to a "plumber," and said to contact him if I got another stone.

Add me to Dr. Deters' fan club. After almost a year of living in pain due to the failures of other providers he performed robotic surgery to remove the problem. He knew exactly what to do, explained everything clearly and within a week I was feeling great. What a difference to work with a doctor I can trust!

Dr Levi Deters is one of the most caring, concerned doctors I have ever had. He looked me in the eye whenever he talked to me, gave me options of what might happen, and was courteous and compassionate as we walked through my journey of having a kidney removed. Note: I said as WE walked - - He continually said to me, "We will take care of this!" I trusted him implicitly! I would recommend Dr Deters to family and friends in a heartbeat!

My initial experience with Dr. Deters was in a pre-op setting. He described what had occurred, including a drawing, which helped me understand. He then rectified the problem, and explained in post-op what he had done and what I could expect following surgery. I next saw him in an office setting for a follow-up. He reiterated what had happened, what he had done to address it, and then removed the device he had placed in surgery. I found Dr. Deters easy to talk to, and very competent.

Dr. Deters and his team made this process convenient and comfortable. Immediately upon review of my imaging results, he knew exactly what had to be done. His expertise using the DaVinci Robot helped me to recover within a few days of the surgery. Dr. Deters is honest, a good listener, easy to speak with and I believe I made the best decision to travel to Spokane for this important procedure.

I could not be happier with Dr Deters on a professional as well as a personal level. He was flexible as to my needs medically for the male prostrate problem. I waited as long as I could but then things went south sooner than we expected. He got me in to a TERP surgery on short notice and brought my life back to a very normal level. I cannot express more gratitude with Dr Deters and our success. I'm a happy camper again. THANK YOU!

I have nothing but the greatest respect for Dr. Deters' knowledge and skill, He quickly and accurately diagnosed my kidney tumor. As he did a difficult robotic surgery to remove the tumor which was behind the renal artery, he was able to save 99% of my kidney. I would recommend him highly.

I recommend that if you have urology issues to contact Dr. Deters at Spokane Urology. Dr. Deters removed my left kidney that was wrapped in cancer Sept. 2017. I'm VERY lucky that he removed it in time. I asked for a picture of the mass and Dr. willingly delivered. Good luck.

Dr. Deters performed a Prostate biopsy after his physical exam revealed a small nodule on the prostate. His comforting, straight forward explanations helped to relieve my concerns. An MRI showed that his evaluation of a "tiny" cancer was correct. His follow-up review with my wife and I was once again matter of fact and extremely valuable given his research and data about my particular issue. We left with a feeling of relief with his prognosis and will continue to follow up during the next year.

Staff was cold and rather unfriendly. Interview following my procedure left me baffled, a trainee came to inquire how I was doing ( he said he was doing this for his benefit as a trainee), then he said he had to go let the doctor know how I was getting along. This was followed by a very short interview with the doctor. I really feel that I was given a rush treatment and not enough information as to the procedure and after effects.
