Dr Deters seems nice but communication is very poor. Cannot get results from my tests. Cannot communicate with him and office staff is non-responsive. The staff said I could communicate my concerns via MyChart. The only communication available is refills an appointment scheduling. Very poor healthcare delivery.

I absolutely would recommend Dr Deters to anyone needing urology care. I went to him for a second opinion due to a serious diagnosis that would require the removal of my right kidney. Dr Deters couldn’t have been more professional, knowledgeable and set my mind at ease that removing that kidney was crucial to better health. This doc is compassionate, down to earth and has a great sense of humor. He Was able to schedule me in a timely manner, executed the Surgery amazingly well and even left me with the most minor of scars ( taking the kidney out my belly button!). I am convinced that trustIng Dr Deters to address my medical issue has undoubtedly added quality years to my life!

I recently had a kidney stone that became increasingly painful. I talked with Dr. Deters that afternoon. He knew how uncomfortable I was and said, “let’s get it out tomorrow”. I was so thankful that it could be addressed so quickly, and I had successful surgery the following morning. It is obvious that he loves his profession, and is a true professional in every sense of the word. I never feel like he’s rushed when he talks with me, and I have total confidence in him and in his staff. He treats me with the utmost respect and has a great bedside manner. I feel so fortunate to have found such a highly-skilled and knowledgeable urologist who also just happens to be a really good person. The entire Spokane community is fortunate to have him here, as well. Thank you, Dr. Deters!

Dr Deters explained carefully the results of all the tests and what these results point to, and then made a recommendation as to how to proceed. He answered all our questions and concerns and did not pressure us to decide in one way or another. Once the decision was made he then explained what would happen and what to expect. Dr Deters is a competent and skillful doctor that has true companion for the human condition without being overcome with sympathy. He listens attentively and responds appropriately. If you want to be treated with respect and dignity through the resolve of your disease process I highly recommend seeking care from Dr Deters.

From my first meeting with Dr. Deters to discuss a history of high PSA tests with negative biopsies (10 years) until a positive via cold fusion biopsy in December 2018 and continuing through laparoscopic surgery to remove the prostate in October 2019, he has consistently shown a blend of expertise and compassion that is unequaled in my experience. I give him the very highest rating possible and thank him for safely bringing me through the most difficult health challenge I have ever faced.

Dr. Deters is definitely making my life better with his skills, knowledge and compassion. In addition I would like to compliment the staff at Spokane urology, who are excellent. I would particularly like to complement Marissa and Erica, who helped with the procedure I had today administered by Dr Deters. Both women have a high degree of professionalism, but what particularly strikes me is there empathy for the patient and excellent listening skills. Combined with their technical knowledge, they really know how to deliver excellent care to the patient. Whether it be an extra pillow to relieve the pain in my neck or a sip of water because my mouth is dry. Whatever it takes, these women are prepared to make my doctor visit as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I would recommend this group to any of my friends.

Dr. Deters provided me professional and compassionate care. Each nurse I encountered during my hospital stay was sure to tell me I was in great hands with Dr. Deters. His reputation among staff as a skilled surgeon is clear. At a follow-up visit to his clinic, I was impressed with the professionalism and kindness of his staff. I arrived early to this appointment and was called to be seen within a few minutes of my arrival. I will recommend Dr. Deters to people my family and friends.

I was referred to Dr. Deters by my primary care physician due to a rising PSA over time. Initial biopsy did not indicate an issue. Approximately 2 yrs. later with PSA continuing to rise, Dr. Deters used a 3T MRI scan overlay for the ultrasound biopsy. This indicated an issue. After reading a book provided by Dr. Deters, he agreed with my assessment that radical prostatectomy was the best option. I was happy to learn that Dr. Deters preferred the Laparoscopic surgery. Surgery was scheduled and Dr. Deters performed the surgery at Holy Family hospital. The surgery was a success and I was released the next day. I did not need pain medicine. The catheter from surgery was removed after one week, but was re-three-days later when I had issues urinating. This was removed after another week and I am recovering well, even doing desk work and normal eating. I have high regard for Dr. Deters and his team.
