Patient Comments (4)

I have more than 50 treatments and surgeries with Dr. Poinsette. She has always been excellent in terms of her medical knowledge, concern and thoroughness. She and her staff have helped me survive several serious issues and referred me to other specialists when needed.

I had a basal cell carcinoma size of pencil eraser about 1/3 inch above my left eyebrow just to the outside of the pupil area. Told horizontal cut would blend with face lines. Mohs procedure never mentioned. Was given a 2.5" diagonal cut that goes into eyebrow and will permanently affect my eyebrow...more

The excision was oriented 90 degrees to the eyebrow. Horizontal orientation would have pulled one eyebrow higher than the other. This was explained prior to the procedure. A plastic and Mohs surgeon would have to orient it the same way. Unfortunately skin cancers don't always form in the best place. This patient's cancer was cured without Moh's which was not necessary for such a small cancer. Moh's would have cost three times as much as well.

Didn't offer much assistance regarding my skin condition Was passive and made it clear by her remarks that she was solely out for the money not patient care Appointment was maybe ten minutes at best Please seek an alternative dermatologist
