My first 2 appointments went great. He listened to my history and found that I had been suffering from an additional diagnosis that had been untreated my whole life. So because I ignored all the negative reviews and remained in his care, I even brought a family member to see him. We arrived 3 minutes late, he didn't come out until 15 minutes after the appointment time and informed me that my family member was responsible for an unpaid balance from my insurance. I should have listened to reviews

My experience with this doctor was so horrible. He has no people skills. Couldn't deal with my autistic sons behavior and started berating me with questions in the most rude manner. He truly couldn't stand my child or anything he did. Matter of fact he couldn't stand me. No matter what answers I gave him he gave me an annoyed look. He even lied to me that our appointment was going to be delayed due to patients showing up for an emergency meeting. Just to find his office empty. Avoid this doctor!

I would leave a 0 star if it was possible. I highly recommend you avoid this psychiatrist. He consistently runs late. Does not value your time. Insists you pay for appointments even when he is the one who misses it (i.e. he is 1-2 appointments behind in his schedule and you have other appointments so can't wait for him to catch up). He berates you. Horrible. Particularly for someone in this profession.

Our experience with Dr Matalan was a positive one. He spent time with my son and I asking a lot of questions...first with my 13 year old son who was being treated, then me to get further insight. We felt comfortable with him and felt that his many years of experience provided a direct, easy appointment. He has a quirky way about him that I could see people misunderstanding as he thinks very quickly but is very thorough with his analysis, but we rather liked this about him. Cool guy.

This doctor is a nightmare. If you value the person that needs care DO NOT go to this Dr. I do not under stand how this man got any degree. He is unable to perform the most basic tasks without screwing it up & making you wait a week to get medication from you're pharmacy because he can't indicate the amount of refills you get. He takes personal calls on you're time. He charges you $75.00 for a 5 minute paper to be filled out. I hope this helps people to make the right choice on a Dr.

He put me on a medication that caused SIGNIFICANT amount of weight gain then would act like it was my fault. When I asked questions he acted like I should already know the answer to them. Definitely a Mr.know-it-all. He does NOT know it all. Do not go to this man he is arrogant and has an inflated ego. I could see if he was a good psyc there would be a good reason for that big ego but no.

I had a great experience with Dr Matalon. He got me in last minute which was greatly needed which I appreciated. We ended up going over an hour and he didn't pressure me to finish up or cut me off. I am a 25 yr old with anxiety/depression and now come to find out Type-A Bipolar. He started me on a new medicine and because of him and his recommendations I am starting to feel like a normal person again. He is a psychiatrist, not a therapist. He did what I needed from him. Friendly and professional

This mad is rude condensing arrogant and useless , I was having some legal problems with my employer and I needed a Drs note to excuse abences and he resist the entire process he stated that get paid a certain amount and hour and he couldn't spend more than a certain amount of time in each patient and that I needed to email him with specifics of what I required for the note , he is just all around a terrible person who throws around blame , for example I canceled an appointment late ,he requires

Horrible experience with Dr Matalon. We were already looking for a new psychiatrist but continued sering Dr Matalon so my daughters medication doesn't lapse. Dr Matalon should not be around children. He is nasty, and rude. He did nothing to make myself or my daughter feel comfortable. When my young child needed a diaper, the dr insisted I take him and we wait in the car for my daughter. He said he'd call me with any questions but did not. Instead he grilled my 14 year old for answer to ques

I took my daughter to Dr. Matalon, which I greatly regret. It's difficult to find and evaluate a professional for the care of your child or yourself. I had not local referrals. I had only qualifications and these reviews. The qualifications looked reasonably good only in that as stated he went to what should be a descent medical school, University of Illinois. There were a couple of descent reviews, but mostly bad. Out of it I thought, well, it looks like he has personality problems, but if
