If you are looking for a caring, compassionate doctor to administer your treatment and work with you alongside your family, Dr. Saltzman is not the doctor, I have never received such cold treatment from a doctor. After waiting 4 months for treatment results and traveling 4 hours to meet with him, he came in and said I have another appointment so I have to leave, the chemo didn't work, there are no clinical trials (only after asking him) and he walked out. No opportunity to ask any questions, etc

Dr saltz had been described to me as the "gold standard" in his field and i put all my trust in him until recently when i found out that he had misdiagnosed me. He had told me 4 years ago that my colon cancer had metasticized to me lung. He didnt want to do a biopsy and said we should wait to see how it progressed. I had a biopsy a few weeks ago because i may have been eligible for a clinical trial and the biopsy showed i had lung cancer. 4 years of a misdiagnosis.

Using this doctor was a HUGE mistake. His bedside manner is horrible, but we were willing to put up with his terrible attitude thinking we would be getting the best care being that he is head of Gastrointestinal Oncology department in Sloan. Nothing could be farther from the truth! This man was cold and abrupt, uncaring and just plain mean. If you are considering using this doctor please beware and save yourself a lot of pain and heartache, and maybe even your life.

Dr. Saltz was cold and inappropriate when dealing with my husband in the hospital. He used my husband as a teaching tool for his students ignoring that both the patient and his family were in the room. My husband and I are both physicians and found this to be shocking bedside manner.
