This doctor bad mouths other physician and undermines their decisions. He thinks he is the only MS specialist in Hawaii and that is NOT true. In fact, the MS Society does not even have him on their list which I find strange. He never uses a computer and still uses paper files which tells you he is not up to date. His front office receptionist Geri is rude and never acknowledges you when you walk in. I never seen her smile. I'm so glad I found another doctor that has better bedside manners!

When I first received my dx, i was beyond disbelief. I had nothing to compare Dr. Maher to as he was the only neurologist I'd ever seen, but I've since moved away from the island and I've been through what will soon be my third neurologist. (This last one due to retirement). I've had 2 different dx with these last two neurologist from Dr. Mother's and I feel lost. Dr. Maher takes time to listen, explain tx, plans. So, if you've been waiting long for your appt. your going to receive the best!

I went to several physicians and was NOT happy with how they treated me. Then I found Dr. Maher (he was referred to me by a medical professional) - and I've been his patient for a long time now for a chronic situation. He is professional, compassionate, has a good "bedside manner" to put you at ease and no questions asked of him are answered in a condescending manner. I know if I wait longer than usual, he's giving someone real care; I've received extra time when needing answers, too.
