Dr. Lucas' bio

This content was provided by Dr. Lucas "I am an Arizona native and a proud graduate of the University of Arizona. Go Wildcats! I graduated Cum Laude with a bachelors of science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I continued my medical education at UofA where I completed my Doctor of Medicine, a 5-year General Surgery Residency and a 2-year fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Limb salvage is an important part of my practice. One of the first operations I saw as a medical student was a leg amputation for diabetes. This had a profound affect on the course of my training. I knew from that point on I wanted to help prevent leg amputations by improving people's circulation. Diabetes is shockingly so prevalent in America today. Every 30 seconds someone loses a leg to diabetes. It is an honor to be part of a team that works hard to reverse the trend of leg amputations."

This was my 2nd opinion doctor after my first one wasted 6 months and never figured out the problem. The first test she sent me for and that was the right one! The surgery was a breeze and she was great at explaining what was going on and also kept checking my comfort level.
