Dr. Volz's Care Philosophy

I intend to provide high quality, compassionate and cost effective care.  I understand that surgery is a useful tool in the treatment of  many diseases but is not beneficial for every patient.  I will spend the necessary time with the patient and their family listening to their symptoms and concerns to ensure the appropriate testing and procedures are performed to address their medical condition in an expedited fashion.

Dr. Volz says...

I have significant interest and experience in utilizing minimally invasive surgical and postoperative care programs that minimize the physiologic insult to the body.  These programs known as Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS) Protocols improve outcomes, decrease hospital stays, greatly decrease the need for narcotic pain medications after surgery allowing patients to return to normal activity and work much sooner.  The vast majority of my surgical patients will be allowed to drink clear liquids the morning of surgery and will not require narcotic pain medications after surgery ensuring a more pleasant experience.
