What People Say About Dr. Laurence Higgins, MD

My husband had a reverse shoulder operation with Dr. Higgins in December of 2015. The brachial plexus was injured during that surgery and my husband had no feeling in his left arm. I went with him to the one month check up. Dr, Higgins said “guaranteed 100% that will come back”. At the 3 month check up, no improvement, Higgins seemed shocked. He sent my husband to a nerve specialist and said he would call him the next day. No call ever came. He deserted him when things went wrong.

If you don't have an easily identifiable condition, Dr. Higgins will not spend any time trying to assist with a diagnosis. For three appointments, he spent approximately 5 minutes with me.. total, so about 1 1/2 minutes per appointment. Find another Doctor.

In past 2-3 years Dr. Higgins has done 2 surgeries on my right shoulder and both went bad. First one was about re-attaching the partially torn supraspinatus he did that in faulkner hospital. In first 2 weeks of therapy I noticed my shoulder is moving freely all the way to 155 degrees and no strength on my biceps. We called Higgins office they said come back asking for another imaging then he wanted to do revision and during the surgery he cut my LHB. tenodesis and revision also failed. NOT GOOD

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Laurence Higgins! I just had my shoulder replacement. Dr. Higgins, and staff have been very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Before I had my shoulder replacement surgery, anytime I mentioned his name to anyone there and in the waiting room from patients who've already had the surgery and were back to get their other shoulder replaced all had great success and specifically said, They would go to no other surgeon, Dr. Larry Higgins is the best of the best! : )
