Dr. Sznyter provides expert care to her patients with benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, breast and skin with compassion and understanding.
As an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, Dr. Sznyter is involve in the training of future physicians. She has published in peer reviewed journals on treatment of parathyroid and thyroid diseases. She has presented at national meetings on minimally invasive parathyroidectomy, thyroid cancer, minimizing complications after thyroid surgery and breast cancer.
Dr. Sznyter has been a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society since 1992 and holds memberships in many professional organizations including American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, New York Head and Neck Institute, Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Breast Surgeons and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
Laura A. Sznyter, MD is a board certified general surgeon with fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery specializing in thyroid, parathyroid, breast and melanoma surgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Sznyter completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She was selected to remain as the Assistant to the Surgeon in Chief and completed additional training in Endocrine Surgery.
