She then completed a general internal medicine and women's health fellowship at Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital, respectively. She has provided comprehensive HIV care since 1998 and has been actively involved in HIV and primary care research, teaching and advocacy since then.
