I was a patient of Dr Chou a few years ago. Last Saturday, 5-20-2017, I fell and injured my spine. I was taken to crozer er and was told I had many slipped disc. They put me on Vicodin ever since and was told to see my Dr. When i called and told the scheduler at dr chou s office what happened to me 3 days ago and that I was in extreme pain she said the only time dr Chou could see me was the END OF AUGUST. I would not see any physician in this office if this is the type of person they hire.

12 years ago I had a c3-c7 fusion which took me almost a year to learn to walk again, I went through several neurosurgeons until I found Dr Larry Chou. From our first appointment, I have been very impressed by his knowledge and caring attitude through numerous injuries, as well as my semi-annual follow up. I recommended several friends to him and they have equally impressed.

As an active adult, I have been to Dr. Chou for pain management for a couple different cases and in neither case did he recommend surgery, although those were options. He is considerate, compassionate, explains all options to consider and reasons for his conclusions. Despite his exceptionally busy practice, I always feel I have his full attention and have never felt rushed (but be on time out of consideration for his other patients). I highly recommend Dr. Chou for his expertise and care.

Dr Chou understands. I have multiple issues that contribute to chronic pain. It is wonderful to consult with a skilled compassionate physician who can complete my sentences when I'm trying to explain my pain. He helps me set realistic goals, evaluates my progress, or lack thereof, at each meeting, clearly explains medications and treatment options, and helps me keep living. My pain will not be leaving, so I will always need help to maintain a high quality life style. I'm lucky to have found Dr C

Larry was referred to me to UPENN 800#. I was very excited and enthusiastic when I had my first visit. I thought he would help me in rosolving my health issues. He recommended a surgery. I took a chance. Big mistake which made my life a living hell Bottom line:he is a good doctor for cripples. So if you are already in a wheel chair go and see him. Medications(legal drugs) will work their miracle. If you just have severe pain avoid him. Your immune and endocrine system shuts down, U R a veg-ble.

Dr. Chou performed a radio frequency nerve ablation. This procedure was done with no anesthesia, twilight anesthesia or even a numbing type cream. He proceeded to go in and ablate some nerves in my lower back. The radio frequency burns and kills the nerve. It was a totally traumatic experience. I am no wimp but on a scale of 1 - 10 for pain this was a 10. More painful than childbirth. Specializes in pain management! I later learned that this is normally done with anesthesia!
