This doctor was just a waste of my time. I have been having stroke like symptoms and been hospitalized twice, All he did was tell me that the Cat Scan & MRI showed that I did not have a stroke. I already knew that. I was hoping he would suggest other testing to find out what is going on, but he didn't. Instead he suggested I was depressed and prescribed medicine. I came there two days after my hospitalization, was having severe migranes, nausea , vision problems, weaknesd and trouble walking..

Dr. Ruffing was very understanding and supportive, he answered all our questions and spent a great deal of time with My wife( the patient) and I .Even went above and beyond and suggested a local support group for her condition..This was our first appointment with him and we were impressed. with everything about him and his office.

An pleasant, caring and knowledgeable doctor. He listened carefully, and patiently explained everything in language I understood. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Ruffing to others.
Ft Myers, FL |
The worst, the office and procedures have zero follow up. in general they could care less about you. I had all my test and 2 months later never heard a word. You would think they would have called and told me results were back and set up an appointment. !!!!! I would not recommend them to anyone,

I have been referred to Dr. Ruffing by my Dr. in Sarasota. After having been called with information re: appt. being told I would be mailed information as to location, etc. Two weeks later, I looked at his reviews and was NOT happy with what i read. I called the office and asked if the Info had been mailed out to me for the upcoming appt. The Girl said "it's ONLY for an EMG". I was NOT happy with That response. I got a Generic Letter from her, withOUT his Card which she said SHE "Would ENCLOSE.

He was professional and polite. He asked questions and listened. The exam was thorough.
in Bradenton, FL |
This was the worst experience with a physician in 60 years. Dr. Ruffing was dismissive, abrupt and arrogant. My first visit was for a nerve study; when completed I asked a question. He curtly replied, he was not here to answer any of my questions. Limited characters does not allow me to explain additional office visit experiences.
in Sarasota, FL |
Dr. walked into exam room immediately questioning me as to why I had seen several neurologists (4 w/i 12 years). He did not wait for a complete answer. He discounted results of two PET Scans as meaningless. Did a partial Mini Mental Health exam and a quick neuro exam and referred me for neuropsych. testing. Although his recom. for follow-up neuropsych testing was appropriate, I found him to be subtly aggressive, angry and hostile. This was a consult and he spent approx. 20 minutes with me.
New York, NY |
Truly a waste of time. He was not interested in my symptoms or history. He had no insight or suggestions except to go see another Neurologist. Obviously could not be bothered. All the reviews are true. Horrible bedside manner.
Bradenton, FL |
This doctor was rude and ignorant. Had no past history on my medical conditions but wanted to alter the regimen I have been on for the past 30 years. Refused to acknowledge any of my symptoms saying they were all subjective and therefor my pain wasn't relevant to him. When I questioned his plan he told me I should see someone else. A complete waste of my time and the two weeks I waited for the appointment!
in Sarasota, FL |
I would highly recommend Dr Ruffing and his staff. Dr Ruffing was polite and very professional. He did everything he could to make sure my problem was addressed promptly and his follow up was excellent. I have complete confidence in his ability to diagnose and care for his patients. One of the best doctors I have ever seen.
