This was the worst experience with a physician in 60 years. Dr. Ruffing was dismissive, abrupt and arrogant. My first visit was for a nerve study; when completed I asked a question. He curtly replied, he was not here to answer any of my questions. Limited characters does not allow me to explain additional office visit experiences.

Dr. walked into exam room immediately questioning me as to why I had seen several neurologists (4 w/i 12 years). He did not wait for a complete answer. He discounted results of two PET Scans as meaningless. Did a partial Mini Mental Health exam and a quick neuro exam and referred me for neuropsych. testing. Although his recom. for follow-up neuropsych testing was appropriate, I found him to be subtly aggressive, angry and hostile. This was a consult and he spent approx. 20 minutes with me.

Truly a waste of time. He was not interested in my symptoms or history. He had no insight or suggestions except to go see another Neurologist. Obviously could not be bothered. All the reviews are true. Horrible bedside manner.
      Bradenton, FL |
This doctor was rude and ignorant. Had no past history on my medical conditions but wanted to alter the regimen I have been on for the past 30 years. Refused to acknowledge any of my symptoms saying they were all subjective and therefor my pain wasn't relevant to him. When I questioned his plan he told me I should see someone else. A complete waste of my time and the two weeks I waited for the appointment!
      in Sarasota, FL |
I would highly recommend Dr Ruffing and his staff. Dr Ruffing was polite and very professional. He did everything he could to make sure my problem was addressed promptly and his follow up was excellent. I have complete confidence in his ability to diagnose and care for his patients. One of the best doctors I have ever seen.

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
