Ocala, FL |
Poor patient interaction and little follow-up. This doctor seems to rely too much on impressions supplied by his office assistants instead of his personal instincts, which might not be so developed.

Excellent doctor. Very pleasant and personable.

Dr. Balch is a skilled Ophthalmologist with a caring and personable demeanor. He relates to patients of all ages which is an admirable trait. The person that reviewed and submitted 1 star twice should not be considered into this equation as he was basing it on office practice and not on the doctor's ability/performance. Personally $100 deposit for surgery seems more than reasonable in my opinion and I think most of us would agree. Dr. Rosado, a new dr, is also wonderful. My son saw her.

Dr Balch is a gifted surgeon. I was so scared about having cataract surgery but the surgery went so well and I can see so much better. Thank you so much Dr. Balch. The staff at the surgery center are very professional which helped a lot too. My general practitioner recommended Dr. Balch to me and so did my eye doctor. I was hoping to find the best surgeon and I think I did, he was great. I still have my other eye to get done but this time I won't be scared.

I would not recommend this doctor. He charges $100 deposit on surgery. When I tried to change my appointment a month ahead of time, his scheduler was always "with a patient but would call me back". For 3 weeks I tried and she was always "with a patient". She never called me back. I finally told a receptionist that I was cancelling and to refund my deposit. I got a letter from the doctor saying the next time I cancelled so late, he would charge me. There was never a next time.

Because of the review which I previously left, the Doctor has decided to remove me from the list of his patients, thereby confirming the impression which I have had all along. The previous review contained four stars. I have always sensed something authoritarian. I respect the Doctor's decision. The gentleman should respect my sense as well
