Tuesday, June 6 was my initial appointment with Dr. Rathjen. I know how busy surgeons are, but he acted like I was his only patient of the day. I appreciated the time he spent with me. He gave me a much clearer picture of what is going on in my hip and what option would be the most beneficial. Dr. Rathjen is very down to Earth and welcomed any questions that I had. Additionally, his staff is also very welcoming. Kim, James, and Dona were kind and professional. Highly recommended.

in Quinlan, TX |
I am two days out of hip surgery and doing remarkably well. Dr. Rathjen is a no nonsense person and takes care of business. He is extremely attentive and his team is very well coordinated like an orchestra. I am optimistic my long term results will be good considering all the excellent care this far. Highly recommend Dr. Rathjen.

Wonderful staff always wiling to help. Dr Rathjen takes the time to explain everything so good to where I can understand him and know what is going on with my Knee. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I did not see him on the day of discharge from hospital following knee replacement. And I only saw him one time briefly in the following year post surgery even though I was having serious problems with pain and usage of knee. The PA told me to try a rocking chair for my knee pain! I found another surgeon who was able to help me with my issues. I would not recommend him.
in Duncanville, TX |
After having heard wonderful things about Dr. Rathjen, I visited his office for my hip problem. His staff looked at the x-ray of my hip from one year prior and said that I could not see Dr. Rathjen because I wasn't bone on bone. The best they would do for me was to see his NP or PA. His gatekeepers do an excellent job of keeping the patient from seeing the doctor. I had hip replacement surgery done by another doctor a few months later. It was a humiliating experience.
