Dr. Kinard has a special interest in, and will focus his general approach toward, achieving his treatment goals (pain relief, improved physical/emotional function, enhanced quality of life) while minimizing the role of medications which can result in chemical dependency and addiction.
Dr. Kinard is a Pascagoula, MS native whom began his medical career after a brief stint in the minor leagues with the Arizona Diamondback's professional baseball organization upon graduating from Millsaps College in 1996. After receiving his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, he completed his Anesthesia residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and maintains dual Board Certification in both specialties.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Pain Society and is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He has participated in multiple research studies, is a regionally known speaker and has been called by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure for purposes of expert witness testimony in the field of Pain Medicine.
