Dr Patel is Outstanding
After struggling with Anteriolisthesis of L3on L4 with bilateral facet hypertrophy and bulging L5 disc along with some SI joint pain due to compensation curve of scoliosis Dr Patel was able to get me the help I needed by injecting 3 areas with pain medication (no discomfort at all on injection site].I have exercised and danced my whole life. At 72 yrs of age my back just caught up with me Both Dr Patel and her staff were outstanding. They asked all the right questions and did not waste my time ! Loved my Experience!!!!

2-3 weeks wait for authorization
Awful inefficient staffing .can never get anyone on phone. 7 locations and not enough staff. I had to wait 1 hr to see Dr because the billing people said I needed a referral from my PCP when I arrived. I have a PPO and DO NOT need a referral to see Dr Patel. Finally they spoke to my PCP office who told them the same thing. So of course then I had to wait in exam room. Dr Patel was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable, but when I went to schedule an appointment for the procedure the office would not let me schedule until they got authorization from I insurance. They told me that it could take 2-3WEEKs just to get authorization because they had a lot of Drs and not enough staff. I needed to get this right away since my husband was having surgery in 3 weeks and I was in pain This is a pain management practice and they want you to wait 2-3 weeks just for authorization and who knows how long for an appt ! got appt with HSS PM in 3 days , have procedure scheduled next week.

When ever I go see Dr. Patel I can truly say she helps me with my chronic pain in my lower back, in my opinion she is a great doctor that can relate to patients with chronic pain. I would definitely recommend her to all who has chronic pain or back pain.

I was recently referred to Dr. Patel to explore options for dealing with my back pain. I spent almost 2 hours at the office and NEVER met Dr. Patel. I was evaluated by the nurse practitioner who was very nice and very capable. She explained that she had consulted with Dr. Patel and they recommended an epidural for my back pain. When I asked if I would meet the doctor I was told that I would meet her on the day of the procedure. No further explanation was given as to why this doctor would not take the time to meet a new patient. This was unacceptable to me and when I was called to schedule the epidural appointment I explained that I was not at all comfortable with using Dr. Patel for my treatment based on my experience in the office and that I planned to find a pain specialist who actually cared about patients.

Nice lady. But I need a reliable medical practitioner and facility. Sadly. Dr. Kiran V. Patel's clinic is the worse clinic I've ever dealt with--always a minimum 2-hour wait time from my appointment time, whether via in-person or telemed visit without any form of communication during my long wait despite their existing electronic communication system. I have 25 years of medical history going to other numerous doctors/specialists/facilities and never had this experience with them. I'll be looking for a new pain management doctor.

Took my 84 yr old DISABLED mother for a steroid shot in the shoulder. She was so nervous. It was an awful experience from the second I walked into office. Rude staff, especially Natasha. DR Patel is unprofessional. I felt like I was in the "Twlight Zone" on how we were treated. It is such a long story on what exactly happened but all I can say is that Dr. Patel and her staff neglected many "important" issues. Especially, sending my mother home with no instruction on what to expect after injection or if she still had to take her medicine. I had to ask twice to speak to Dr. or PA? When I finally got the chance to I was shaking and had tears of anger in my eyes. I understand we are in the middle of a COVID crisis but it does not give the office the right to be rude and forget the vulnerability of their patients especially when they are disabled.

The front desk was unprofessional and ridiculed a patient they had been speaking to over the phone (everyone in the waiting area could overhear). I was disappointed in Dr. Patel for a few reasons. First, she dismissed the work I have been doing with my physical therapist. She said, "this is the problem with physical therapists..we have different philosophies"--this was the first practitioner I have encountered who harbors such an attitude about PT, which I found alarming. She then proceeded to recommend pilates reformer classes, which I found bizarre because 1) they are expensive and 2) I didn't ask for an exercise recommendation. Finally, she told me where she wanted to give the injection based on my symptoms even though it did not correlate with the site of injury on my MRI. I am perplexed by this because Dr. Patel is a PAIN specialist, not a physiatrist, orthopedist, or neurologist. I opted not to be treated and left with the feeling that this is another "pain factory".

Dr. Kiran Patel was my dr. In Staten Island. I love her. She had impeccable bedside manner and was very thorough in all her assessments. She is no longer in Staten Island she moved to NYC. I miss her. If it weren't for my back injury I would go all the way to the city to see her. Thank you for your gracefulness. You are a gem.

What can i say... she saves my life. My pain was debilitating and had consumed every part of my life. After 10 years of doctor after doctor, she along with another specialist was able to pinpoint and guide me through all options that were available to me. She was extremely thorough in explaining every procedure that was available to me. Her staff was as accommodating as possible but always friendly and courteous. Probably one of the beat staff i have had the pleasure to work with. In the end, i had an DRG stim implant and my pain level went from 1000 to about a 2. I have my life back and will forever be grateful to her and my pelvic pain specialist, Dr . Bahlani. I am FREE Thank you.. thank you.. thank you!!

Dr Patel is wonderful. She got me in so quickly because of my pain. She sat with us and went over my MRI slowly showing us what my problem was, where and how it affects my ability to function. She was caring and professional while friendly and understanding. I have seen pain management doctors in the past and she is by far the best I have interacted with. I strongly recommend Dr Patel for help with pain management.
