Kimberley K. Caputo, MD, born and raised in Southern California, has been a resident of Newbury Park since 1982. After completing high school, she hopped across town to study biology and psychology at California Lutheran University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and graduating cum laude with honors in both subjects. While at Cal Lutheran, Dr. Caputo was a member of both the soccer and volleyball teams and worked as a volunteer in Los Robles Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Caputo completed both medical school and her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. Following residency, Dr. Caputo completed a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Los Angeles. There, she trained under the direction of Dr. Colin Moseley, a renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeon who is known for developing the Moseley Straight Line Graph, a tool instrumental in managing children with limb length discrepancy. Given her long standing interest with children's diseases, Dr. Caputo pursued every opportunity to participate in the care of children throughout her training. This included involvement with rare conditions such as osteogenesis imperfecta, arthrogryposis, myelomeningoceole and rickets, as well as more common conditions like cerebral palsy, scoliosis and clubfoot. Dr. Caputo is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is also an active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. Dr. Caputo maintains appointment hours in the Thousand Oaks office. Dr. Caputo resides in Newbury Park with her husband and six children. When out of the office, she is an avid sports fan and enjoys exercising, spending time with her family and scrapbooking.

Had a very bad experience with this doctor a few years ago. Misdiagnosed my son and took no action to get his condition resolved (staph infection). Did not even tell us his test results showed the staph bacteria so we were not aware of it. Ended up in severe medical emergency situation, fortunately with no long term consequences. Never called us to check on his progress. We're so lucky he is alive and well.

She is kind, great with kids and very knowledgeable. We are thrilled to have her as our orthopedic!
in Thousand Oaks, CA |
Dr. Caputo was a very thorough, practical and skilled referral from my daughter's pediatrician when we suspected a wrist fracture. Urgent Care Dr and Radiologist said there was no break but Dr. Caputo spotted in at the growth plate on the x-ray and treated it. What I really liked about her too is that she spoke directly to my 10-year old herself, trusting her with her own pain and symptoms all along. Very pleased with her care and would recommend her to others.

My kids have seen Dr. Caputo several times.Because they needed follow up, I made the next appt before leaving. If it's difficult to get an appt, it's because she's so popular. She has a great way with kids and teens. She talks directly to them and treats them differently than some other doctors have. I, and my referring pediatrician, think highly of her. My only complaint is that her office staff, when you call, are very determined to get your insurance information before you ever see her.
in Moorpark, CA |
My family had a great experience today when we took our 6 year old daughter to Dr. Caputo. She explained everything to us and at the same time made my daughter feel comfortable. Couldn't ask for more out of our visit.
in Thousand Oaks, CA |
Long waiting hours with very few appointment minutes. Without a lot of imagine tests (more money paid), she can't diagnosis. In the end, my son had no medical problem just one slightly longer leg. She couldn't even diagnosis that without an x-ray. Office and Staff are nice, not the Doctor.
Newbury Park, CA |
She misdiagnosed our daughter's osteoma as growing pains. Probably ok for a straight forward case like broken leg but nothing more serious!
in Camarillo, CA |
Both my children have been treated recently by Dr. Caputo , one for a broken arm and the other for Scoliosis. Her care and manner are exemplary. Her assisting staff are gray, too. We are usually seen promptly, and she even told her staff to. lol my two kids' appointments together. Why the low scores here? I sustill ft that it's the front office staff, who make getting your payment/insurance info a priority over getting you a first appointment. Happened with each child's first appointment.
Newbury Park, CA |
After my son broke his arm, we were able to get in on the same day to see Dr. Caputo. She took excellent care of my son and made him feel immediately at ease. She explained things clearly and spent a lot of time with us. We would definitely recommend Dr. Caputo. Her office staff and nurse were also very friendly and helpful.
