In Dec,'85, I was in an MVA with an 18wheeler in which I sustained multiple traumatic injuries including ruptured spleen, brain and spinal injuries, as well as 6 fractures, etc, and survived miraculously. In 2000, after several years of migraines, neck, shoulder, and arm pain,Dr. Johnston performed my first anterior cervical fusion at C6-7. In 2009, he performed ant. cervical fusion of C5 to6-7 following needed diag.testing as before.Today I am mostly pain free. I credit my phenomenal neurosurgeon!

Dr. Johnston and his staff could not have been any nicer. Mary and Rhonda took great care of me during my back surgery. I was very apprehensive abouy having anything done to my back. Now looking back, I wished had done it years ago. Also the office and operating rooms were extremely clean. Thanks to all of you so much!

I have been seeing Dr. Johnston since i was i probably about 9 or 10 years old and I have a medical condition called "Hydrocephalus" It is known as fluid on the brain an i have a shunt put in place to allow the CSF (Cerebrospinal Fluid) to drain from the brain into the abdomen, He is an AMAZING surgeon and i wouldn't want anyone else to do my surgeries.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Dr. Johnston. He is a great surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner as well. A winning combination! Jean Peterson, GNI Community Relations Director

Dr Johnston did both of my anterior cervical fusions and I have been very pleased with the results. He was very compassionate and understanding. He listened to me about my complaints and issues and provided the appropriate diagnostic testing before doing any evasive procedures. He has an excellent bedside manner. He and his staff are all very friendly and sympathetic to their patients complaints.
Carrie- Thank you for the review! I speak on behalf of Dr. Johnston and his team at Georgia Neurosurgical Institute, when I say that we are thrilled to hear that you are recovering well from surgery. I will share your kind words with him as I know he will apreciate them greatly. Jean Peterson, Community Relations Director

Never would I recommend Dr.Johnston to anyone after I became disabled after a bulging disk surgery by Dr. Johnston the piece that was madeasy for the cages that go around the disk were to large had to make new ones while I layer on the operation table open and bleeding ant on to ICU because my blood pressure dropped. 2 days I spent then he cut my nerve going into my cannal. Never a word from him or his staff to see how into was, been years now a pain clinic every month oxy, morph, and a brace.

This is one of the most compassionate doctors I have had in my lifetime. He is personable, friendly, talks TO you, not AT you, and above all that? He is an excellent surgeon. He did a fusion, decompression, disectomy in December of 2015. I had had SEVERE sciatica, back pain and generally was in a lot of pain... One year later, I am no longer in pain and am back at work with no restrictions. The entire staff at GNI and Dr. Johnston are excellent, and I highly recommend this man as doctor to see

If there was a rating of zero for Dr. Johnson and his staff I would be making that submission. My wife has gone from sciatica before surgery to infection of the bone back to sciatica after the infection. Same issue if not worse than before. On the pain medications they do not have a clue on what works or does not. In the infection it is still being treated and is a crap shoot at best that the proper antibiotics are being prescribed due to the lack of bone biopsy to know exactly what type infect

Had 2 level fusion and decompression. Very friendly and compassionate surgeon! Recommend him to anyone needing spinal surgery!
