Dr. Welch was kind enough to see me on a day he doesn't usually see patients and determined that I didn't need surgery. Another doctor felt that I would be a great candidate for surgery, but I wasn't sure. Dr. Welch explained everything to me and it totally made sense. I have since then worked with an allergist, Dr. Saltoun, who has improved my day to day living.

I thought going to Northwestern downtown I would be in very good hands with an excellent dr. The 1st time I went to Dr Welch I was impressed. He told me he could fix my problems without surgery which all of my previous drs wanted to do. I continued to get sick every 6 weeks over 6 month period of time. My last appt with him he said I can not help you anymore, you need surgery. I said I already had 4 surgeries and I am in the same position. What would you do differently. He said open up your sinu

I had another doctor who performed 2 previous surgeries for chronic mild to moderate sinusitis. The previous doctor made me much worse with severe constant pain, vertigo and infection. I came to doctor Welch who after scoping me, he immediately did diagnostic testing. Before I left I knew the infection was in my bone. I knew I'd be having another surgery soon. He performed this 3rd surgery, and it's 6mths out and it has been trouble free. I highly recommend him. Competent and friendly.

Dr Welch was spot on with his assessment of my situation. I would highly recommend him. My breathing improved like he said it would if I continued with my medication and if not he had a plan B in line. Thank you Dr Welch. It was a very trying time not being able to breathe. Fantastic doctor.

I went to see Dr. Welch and his team because I had been experiencing chronic headaches linked to a sinus infection. The headaches had persisted and I wanted to rule out any potential sinus issues. Dr. Welch was both knowledgable and helpful. However, the Fellow that I worked with did not make it clear that performing a Nasal Endoscopy was not part of the office visit from an insurance perspective. At no point did I feel like I was aware that my insurance would be billed a surgical code.

Excellent experience - top to bottom. You'd think the service from a small office with friendly staff would be more personal. Quite the opposite at Northwestern. Dr. Welch and his staff were exceptional.

I went to this physician with the primary complaint of loss of taste. I had gradually lost my taste over the past 2 years. Being that I hadn’t fully lost my sense of smell, he didn’t really care that I couldn’t taste my food. He said there is most likely no cure for lost of taste. I am way too young to just accept the fact @ 35 years old that I will never be able to taste my food again without knowing the WHY. Is it me or does this doctor lack empathy? Walk a mile in my shoes.

After two unsuccessful sinus surgeries, an ear doctor I was seeing recommended Dr. Welch (2010). With the inclusion of daily nasal rinses, I’ve been mainly trouble free ever since. I rarely bother with reviews, but I’m confident in recommending Dr. Welch to anyone who is having sinus issues.

I had heard from friends who work at Northwestern and Loyola that Dr. Welch is exceptional - extremely smart, a very capable surgeon, and very caring for his patients. I thus chose him to do my sinus surgery and was very pleased. He was definitely very caring and I feel really great thanks to the surgery. Thanks Dr. Welch!

I think anyone who has a problem with their sinuses should see Dr. Welch. He and Elisabeth are a fantastic team. They are comprehensive and I feel like nothing is overlooked when I see them. Dr. Welch performed sinus surgery on me last year and I haven't had an infection since surgery!!! It's so great to be healthy again. I would recommend him to anyone who has sinus problems!

Came to Dr. Welch with the expectation of being heard out and thoroughly evaluated. Felt as though he was almost mocking me from the start. He didn't seem to want to actually listen to what I was telling him (had to keep correcting him about my symptoms numerous times), and he spoke to me in a concerningly condescending way. He offered virtually no helpful suggestions for alleviating my symptoms. I have never been treated that way by a doctor and wouldn't wish it on anybody else.
