I visited Dr. Watson for knee pain. He did an x-ray and physical exam, told me I had a torn meniscus, gave me a cortisone shot, and told me this was a non-operative pain management issue. No follow-up appointment was recommended, no MRI or PT was recommended. Weeks later, still in extreme pain, I self advocated for an MRI which I took to two different MDs. (Dr. Watson's office ordered the MRI but never called to give me the results.) Both MDs asked if I had an MRI and both MDs said surgery. The meniscus tear had a small folded flap requiring surgical repair. I recommend Southern Orthopedics or Tulane Sports Medicine (I stayed with Tulane). In addition to surgery, I was given a referral for PT which reduced my pain both before and after surgery. Three weeks post surgery, I am exercising again, nearly pain free, and getting better every day. Dr. Watson, in my opinion, did not do everything necessary to properly diagnose the problem leaving me in unnecessary pain for weeks.
