Kevin Sloan saves my life. He didn’t give up when my brain mystified everyone else. Kevin made me feel safe by treating me with respect and dignity. He always made sure I understood what he was proposing and he always listens to my proposals. By working with Dr Sloan, it feels like a team approach in one man. I don’t know how he does it, but the care he provides is surperior.

Dr. Sloan is an excellent psychiatrist. His knowledge of psychiatry and addiction medicine is second to none (I've met with more than one) and he goes out of his way to help his patients combat whatever issues are affecting them. In addition, he's able to articulate complex psychiatric concepts in a way a layperson can easily understand. Personally, he went through my entire medication list and was quickly able to discern which meds were helping, which had no effect, and which were causing harm.

Dr. Sloan is first of all, very personable. He is an empathetic and attentive listener, and he put me completely at ease telling him anything/everything I needed to/wanted to (and I'm female). He is very professional and quite knowledgeable about management of a wide variety of mental health issues, including (but not limited to) depression, OCD, anxiety, substance abuse/withdrawal, heritable diatheses, etc. He is very up to date on the latest new medications available - the ideal psych doc.

This guy is horrible. I don't think I have ever given a doctor a bad review, but this guy takes the cake. He is super paranoid and thinks patients are lying to him all the time. As a result, he spends the entire session trying to point out how a patient may have given incorrect information at one point or another or perhaps if a patient has spelled something wrong, he gets all twitchy and you can see that his blood is boiling. It's freaky. Never mind trying to help a patient.
