He took TIME to address all my questions - unlike 2 other providers i had seen previously. His end decision was not different than the other 2 - BUT he took the time to explain WHY/ and also told me eventually i woukd have the optiin of knee replacement. I am a very PHYSICALLY active 66 yr old, i ride/train horses/ competitively bass fish, and i wish to maintain my current level of activity, so this knee injury has been devastating to me. I have never broken a bone before, so this has been a very anxiety provoking experience for me.

I recently had a total knee replacement. Dr Kopko has been very informative from the very start, always makes sure I understand what we had discussed before he leaves the exam room. He's thorough and seems very knowledgable and passionate about what he does. Having other medical issues, Dr Kopko had surely does his 'research' to make sure my other medicines and such wouldn't conflict with his surgery. I was also offered the option of having my knee replaced in a hospital OR One Day Surgery Center. I opted for One Day Surgery Center on Taft Rd, North Syracuse. I can't say enough about them too! (yet I can't find a place to leave a review strictly about that facility). Dr. Kopko contacted my husband with surgery progress, and then the nursing staff ALSO stayed in contact with my husband a couple times - keeping him up to date on my recovery and preparedness to be coming home. (and I was only there about 7 hours!) I couldn't have asked for a nicer place!

Dr. Kopko is an excellent orthopedic doctor who has done a fantastic job for me with a left hip replacement (12/11/2019) and a right knee replacement (10/30/2020). In each case, my recovery occurred ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Dr. Kopko!

Monday was my postoperative appointment with Dr. Kopko after having a total hip replacement 19 days ago. I am thrilled with my progress and how smoothly my surgery went every step of the way! Dr. Kopko and the staff at SOS and Crouse Hospital were wonderful to work with - professional, compassionate and caring. After witnessing positive results and testimonials from family and friends, I am so pleased that I chose to have my surgery with SOS/ Dr. Kopko to regain a positive, pain free, quality of life. I will highly recommend SOS and Dr. Kopko to others!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kopko to friends and family. He has replaced both of my knees within the last two years and these surgeries have been life changing. I no longer have to restrict my activities and am even able to keep up with my two young Grandchildren. Dr. Kopko is knowledgeable, extremely professional and yet very approachable.

I originally went to have my knee looked at with Dr. Iorio. On exam he said he thought my issue was my hip. He walked me across the hall and I saw Dr. Kopko who confirmed I needed a new hip with an xray and did not want to put me through a series of cortisone shots. I was a bit shocked and decided to wait. 8 months later my pain was increasing and I called to schedule an appt to discuss surgery. Dr. Kopko and his nurse were very thorough and took their time explaining the process. One thing that he said that was so true and convincing was my hip was not going to ever get better and why wait and endure more pain. He came in before and after surgery and his operating team , Grace and Lynn at Crouse were fabulous. He has excellent bedside manner. Dr. Black who gave me the spinal block was terrific. At my post op appt. he spent a lot of time answering my questions and I was not rushed. He and his team made this a very positive experience! I am pain free and so happy with my new hip

I was having low back and left hip problems. Dr Kopko sent me for PT and it was very helpful. He also said he'd give me an injection into the hip bursa if needed. As it turned out, I was able to get that closer to home (I live 3 hours from Syracuse) and that also was helpful.

I broke my hip before a move to Nashville, TN. I was very fortunate to have Dr. Kopko on call. Little did I realize I had the best surgeon possible. He’s a skilled, compassionate and down to earth person & did everything he could to make my transition smooth. The staff is top notch as well! Great communication getting my records to my new doctor. When the new Dr. saw the X-rays before and after he was very impressed & said Dr. K did a great job! I’m doing fantastic! Thank you Dr. Kopko!

What a wonderful experience...as much as replacing a knee can be 'wonderful'!! Explained everything, answered all my questions in layman's terms. Incision is VERY small as compared to a few acquaintences. HIGHLY recommending him!

Dr. Kopko replaced my "really bad" left hip 4 months ago, and the results are truly life changing. He answered any questions with patience and clarity. My recovery went well without the need for pain medication. Dr. Kopko is a very dedicated surgeon, like my grandfather was, and I highly recommend him.
