His office isn't a spa, but it's not foul or moldy. It was hard to find a psychiatrist who takes insurance, is easy to get to, and provides effective treatment, so the basement didn't matter. I've found him caring and nonjudgmental and good at listening and explaining, and I have done much better under his care. He has moved to appointments only, which is much better than his walk-in system before. I only wish I could schedule appointments without waiting for a callback.

His office is in the basement of his home and smells like mildew. His office is the size of a walk in closet and is cluttered with papers. It feels like you are in a hoarders living room rather than a professional office. He isn't that warm and welcoming so I switched doctors because I didn't feel like I could open up to him about my medical and emotional health which is important when being treated for a mental illness.

I have seen Dr. Kiernan for four years and I am unsure as to who the reviewers are describing. His practice used to be a walk in and - he said so on his message machine that wait times were long. He does have your file out when you come in and he does go over previous notes with you... Perhaps the complaining reviewer is also offended when a waiter has to check the beer menu but... Kiernan is accurate, knows who I am and has helped me. He is smart, inquisitive and I recommend him highly.

Wait time is extremely long even if you have an appointment and you arrive 15 minutes early. Once you are seen, the interaction time is approximately 10 minutes or under. From my understanding, a doctor is suppose to know who they are seeing and have read their file before letting in the patient. He never knows who I am and always takes 5 minutes to read over my file while I wait in silence. He is not accommodating whatsoever, and does not seem to really care about his patients.

The foul, dank, crowded basement serves as an ever-present reminder that one should use Dr kiernan only if absolutely necessary. There is an odor of carious breath, which one may think comes from patients, but when at long last one goes into the inner sanctum of the Doctor, he realizes the source of the noisome atmosphere. Even a dentist's office in a nineteenth-century frontier town couldn't produce such a feculent stench. Use the free hand-sanitizer before and after your appointment.
He was condescending, and extremely rude
