I try to view things from a patient's perspective and discuss with patients their thoughts and concerns regarding their upper extremity issue(s). My goal is to explain potential risks and benefits for treatment choices and let patients choose the option they feel is best for them. I try to avoid surgery for people unless necessary or if we've exhausted nonoperative treatment options.
