      Dr. Heiferman is a board-certified neurosurgeon with over 15 years of experience treating the full range of neurosurgical disorders. He is an authority on the surgical and non-surgical treatment of back and neck pains. Dr. Heiferman has significant expertise and experience performing complex spine surgeries including minimally invasive procedures and artificial disc replacement surgery, which have shown to reduce post-operative pain and speed recovery time. Dr. Heiferman holds in high regard a conservative approach to patient care. He recommends invasive surgery only after non-surgical alternatives have been ruled out. He has served as chair of the neuroscience section for the Society of Photo Optical Instrumentation Engineers and holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
