Learn about Dr. Chang

Care Philosophy

Dr. Chang specializes in cataract surgery, and provides diagnostic expertise & medical management for all visual complaints.  For Dr. Chang, engaging patients in the decision making process is the essential part of treatment; "Once we make a diagnosis, the treatment really depends on the patient.  One size doesn't fit all."  This is particularly true with cataract surgery; "People have different needs and preferences, and there are a myriad of surgical options.  Every choice comes with a tradeoff, and my job is to help patients make optimal decisions for themselves."

Dr. Chang returns to Oahu after being on faculty at Harvard Medical School for 7 years. He also taught advanced surgical courses, has several scholarly publications, and helped design unique computer based simulations designed to teach the cognitive aspects of cataract surgery.

"I am privileged to be back home and to bring back all the great things I've learned from so many great teachers."

Dr. Kenneth Chang examined my eyes and I was so upset because of his decision. He told me that there was something in my right eye that needs to be removed. So he scheduled my surgery for July 17, 2017. I spent a lot of money for my airfare, but luckily I got to see Dr. Pang first. Good news I didn't need surgery it could be solved with medicine given. I thank god for Dr. Pang and his service for my eyes. God bless Dr. Pang and his staff. Thank you so much!
I stopped operating for Dr. Pang on Dec 27,2016, and gave notice 6 months in advance to leave on June 22, 2017. It is therefore impossible that I scheduled your surgery for July 17, 2017, which falls after my departure date. Who ever scheduled you for surgery has much to explain. I would like to clarify this situation and help you in anyway I can. Please feel free to email me: kkc0909@gmail.com. My office # is: 8083739373. I am sorry for your negative experience, and I would like to help.

Dr. Kenneth Chang did an eye laser on me when I didn't need it... terrible... I trusted him with my eyes but I can't believe what he did to my eyes. I would never ever recommend anyone to see him, very unprofessional...

Dr Chang did my cataract surgery about 6 months ago. I am very happy with the results. Dr Chang is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions before the surgery. I went into the surgery confident that I was in good hands. Thank you. Dr.Chang!
