This content was provided by Dr. Hall II "Dr. Hall is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has endowed fellowships from the prestigious American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He opted to specialize in minimally invasive techniques with an emphasis on robotics and bariatric (weight loss) surgery, becoming the first fellow in this specialty at NYU Winthrop. "Bariatric surgery has a far-reaching effect. When you operate on one person you are granted the opportunity to directly and indirectly change a whole community," he says. He performs various procedures, including but not limited to: gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, bdominal wall hernias and various other surgeries on the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, he is an Acute Care and Trauma Surgeon who has a great sense of pride and inner satisfaction when giving patients a second chance at a healthy and normal life, especially after a very challenging operation. Beyond his practice, Dr. Hall is an inventor and innovator. He is the CEO and Founder of proYolk, a virtual incubator for professionals, entrepreneurs and students of all backgrounds. He is a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the Stony Brook School of Medicine, Director of Bariatric Quality Improvement, Director of Surgical Simulations, Medical Director of NYU Winthrop's volunteer students internship program and former Chair of the NYU Winthrop's Committee on Obesity. Dr. Hall has been the recipient of several esteemed awards; including but not limited to The Network Journal Forty Under 40 Award in 2016 for his outstanding achievements in medicine and dedication to community service the Distinguished Alumnus Award from York College in 2014 for his phenomenal contribution and success to the institution. He has served as Editor and Advisor to surgical journals, has been featured in Newsday newspaper, MDNews magazine and his globally televised interview with Ian Boyne on Profile has been an inspiration to many. He is heavily involved in many community and professional organizations and enjoys teaching staff, medical students and residents alike. "
