This content was provided by Dr. Kowalczyk "I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 and then proceeded to Georgetown for medical school and residency, where I built a great foundation for becoming a well-rounded surgeon and worked with some of the best urologists in the area at both Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. I felt I wanted to perfect my surgical technique even more to provide the best possible surgical outcomes, so I enrolled in additional training at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital under the direct tutelage of well-known urologic oncologist, Dr. Jim C. Hu. Specifically, I am fellowship trained in minimally invasive urologic oncology, which means I use laparoscopic and/or robotic surgery to manage genitourinary tumors whenever possible. I spent all year at Harvard with Dr. Hu refining and perfecting techniques for robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer. Throughout my training, I have now performed over 500 robotic surgeries."
