Great
I have been switching doctors since I starting going to get treated for anxiety and depression in second grade I’m now 20 and have been with Dr. Powell for 4 years now. She has been a godsend, after years of switching doctors she was patient and let me stay with her as she moved from the children’s clinic to the adult clinic. Dr. Powell has helps me so much.

Dr. Powell was my doctor for two ~20 day stays at Memorial Hospital. She is a horrible psychiatrist. She decided I was BPD and doomed me to that diagnosis in Springfield. No. I was actually suffering in physical pain from severe unipolar depression from months on end. Now I am in the Champaign area and have received an actual sensible diagnosis of Schizoaffective Disorder. Do not see this woman. She will not listen to you, and you won’t get better. She’s the worst psychiatrist I have ever had the misfortune of having, and I’ve seen plenty. Trust me, that’s saying something.

Dr. Powell lacks patience or thinking outside of the box. She does not like go utilize any treatments outside of well known medications. Save your time and find a provider that listens to your concerns

She's leaving in June so she don't care how she treats you, our son has DMD and other disorders and she's kept increasing his prozac to the point now he has 3 felony charges pending , and refuses to do any med changes. She told us he belongs in D.O.C , we could of got that same result by doing nothing and staying home and not driving to Springfield to get him help. She didn't diagnose his eating disorder she blames us for it.
