Dismissive
Although Dr. Gamadia is an excellent surgeon; he always seemed impatient or annoyed when my family or I had follow-up questions in pre-op/post-op appointments. When trying to explain things to me, he would do it in a way that was difficult to understand all the parameters. In addition, he dismissed and contradict me in the symptom(s) I explained having twice; relating to the first initial surgery. After obtaining what I figured was a CSF leak due to symptoms, he stated “If you had that, you’d be in extreme pain and not comfortable talking to me now.” Only for him to realize in conducting the second surgery, I was correct. The second contradiction, I’ve never had a seizure in my life until first surgery and he wrongly stated, “CSF leaks don’t cause seizures” when other clinical references explain “yes, they do.” I’m seeing positive changes in my second recovery and thank him for that but don’t deny patients’ chief complaints, listen! They need to be heard and not talked down to.

Not very likely!
Went to have a stimulator put in for lower back pain. I done the trial one that was put in by pain clinic Dr. Hansen which worked great. He was aware of me having 3 stimulators in the past the first two got infected bad and had to be removed. Then I was on home antibiotics iv. The third one was fine until I slipped on ice the doctor said that it had caused the leads to be pulled down. Of course that was 22 years ago. The people from Medtronic's and Dr. Hanson all told me that the leads had been redesigns and would not move now. I've had several surgeries since that time and have not really had any problem with any infection but he said he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery and wants to send me to St.Louis. to make a lone story short I can afford to made trips to St.Louis. from my house to Cape is over a hundred miles each way.

Professional
My first appointment with Dr Gamadia was very professional and informative about the type of surgery I needed. He answered questions we had and gave us a clear picture of what he was going to have to do so I could be pain free. Day of surgery he made me feel confident that everything was going to go well and it did. I am almost three weeks out, pain free and so happy.

Great neurosurgeon
Excellent doctor but everything that evolves around him is terrible I wouldn't recommend going to him because of the care you receive at St Francis Cape Girardeau hospital is terrible with the staff being uneducated and don't do thier jobs at all. I awoke from a 2nd day of surgeries to see food for me to eat and not knowing the head nurse Aron didn't check my stomach and intestines to make sure it was awake and as I ate the food for that day my stomach blew up and intestines where it looked like I was pregnant I asked for help no help until I finally grabbed a nurses arm and begged for help 2nd day. Hour later 4 people ran in held me down and stuff and half inch tube down my nose into my stomach to pump it out .4 days and nights of this because someone Aron didn't do his job. Between him and the arrogant nurses i delt with my stay was terrible they would turn off call alarms and take over a hour to show up. IV alarms going off same result. Never Ever Go Here !
