Dr. Matthews' bio
This content was provided by Dr. Matthews "Dr. Kameron Matthews joins the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System as the incoming Medical Director of Mile Square Health Center. She previously served as Site Medical Director of the Division Street site of Erie Family Health Center, a federally qualified health center in Chicago that treats an undeserved, Latino patient population. Prior to that position, she worked for two years as a staff Attending Physician at Cermak Health Services of Cook County, the entity that provides healthcare to the 10,000 detainees of the Cook County Department of Corrections. As a passion outside of her clinical and administrative roles, she is proud to co-direct the Tour for Diversity in Medicine, an initiative seeking to bring premedical enrichment activities to minority high school and undergraduate students across the country. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Polaris Charter Academy, an expeditionary-learning charter school in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, and writes as a Lead Analyst for Policy Prescriptions, an evidence-based health policy website."
