I believe that if a Nephrology Physician is responsible for the monitoring of Diabetes then that doctor should also be willing and capable of prescribing proper medications to control those conditions.. Dr Merveldt refused to renew medications for my type 2 diabetes and rather pass me off to a...more

Mr. Davis, I'm sorry you are upset that I recommended you see a PCP or endocrinologist to manage your diabetic medications. I want what is best for my patients. Those patients whom I see infrequently I do not feel I can monitor their diabetes as closely as a PCP would be able to. I never want to provide my patients with less than optimal care, hence my recommendation to you. I hope you are doing well and have found a nephrologist who meets your needs better.
