    Anterior total hip R&R- Satisfaction level 10, pain level zero. Dr. sherfey made it clear to me from the consultation to the pre-op and out the door what to expect. I was a good student and did all the homework his staff gave me. Overall everything went better than my expectations. About me I am a 59 yrs old hip has been in low to moderate constant pain for 5+ years due to Osteoarthritis and I was living on ibuprofen, which made physical work uncomfortable. Took my meds. iced and PT. Great DR.

    Had a broken ankle and leg bone, he did surgery, didn't give me any blood thinner pills after surgery and I developed massive blood clot in that leg. Swollen leg to this day from damaged veins. Was in hospital for 5 days with clot. Could have been prevented with blood thinner pills following surgery. 10 years later now, and have chronic swollen leg with sometimes some pain in the veins of that leg. Makes me very angry I wasn't given appropriate clot medicine to prevent this from ruining veins

    I am a leading Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon.  I completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada.  There I worked under two of the best known joint replacement surgeons in the world; Dr Ceil Rorabeck and Dr Robert Bourne.  I am extensively trained in the lasted techniques of minimally invasive surgery, including Anterior Hip Replacement.  I have had the opportunity to treat high level professional athletes as I trained under the team physicians for the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and withe the team physicians for the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox.
