I saw Dr Griffin for shoulder pain and loss of range of motion (ROM). He ordered X-Rays and a MRI to confirm the status of both the joint and muscles supporting the shoulder. After carefully reviewing the test results with me, he recommended a conservative course of treatment, with a steroid injection and physical therapy. After 6 weeks of PT, I have recovered almost my entire ROM and easily move the shoulder without pain. Dr Griffin and his team were great to work with and achieved the results I desired without surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr Griffin at the Jordan Young Institute and my Physical Therapists Anne Kelly and Shaun Scissom at Sentara Therapy Center Fort Norfolk. Their conservative approach and effective treatment allowed me to re-gain my ROM and return to normal activities.

Dr. Griffin was recommended for my shoulder replacement surgery by another surgeon, my primary care doctor, as well as my physical therapist. He did a wonderful job of deciding the appropriate surgery for my problem, performing the surgery, and answering my questions before and after surgery. I feel as though my swift recovery and successful results were aided by his surgery and his and his staff's attention throughout the entire process.

Fantastic experience with Dr. Griffin and his assistant Travis. He explained very well what my total reverse replacement shoulder surgery would entail. Follow by both was informative also. Very happy with surgery results. Also all employees at Jordan Young pleasant and professional. Going next week for my other shoulder which most likely will need the same surgery. I would not go to any other doctor. Dr. Griffin is the best.

I visited Dr. Justin Griffin with a torn (full thickness tear) rotor cuff that was very painful. He sent me to physical therapy to prepare for surgery, did surgery, and back to physical therapy. Now, a year later, I call my arm a super arm. I am totally amazed and excited about what I can now do using the arm. I recommend him if you should happen to need the surgery. Thank You very much Dr. Griffin.

I went to Dr. Griffin to get a second opinion about my shoulder surgery. I was very impressed as soon as I walked into the practice. I felt the energy when I met Dr. Griffin and his staff. He listened to my problem and he gave me my options and let me decide the best course of action to take about the surgery. They explained the surgery in detail and showed me videos that really put me at ease. I would highly recommend Dr. Griffin and his practice. In fact, I already did!

I had been living with right shoulder pain for years. Finally was referred to Dr. Griffin. What an amazing surgeon. Three separate procedures done in one surgery: rotator cuff repair, bicep tendon repair, and shaved down a bone spur. No issues whatsoever and his follow up care was awesome. I had my 6 month follow up appointment this morning, and you can't even tell which shoulder he worked on. His assistant (Travis) is just as amazing. Highly recommend Dr. Griffin and Jordan Young Inst.

Dr. Griffin was super responsive to my needs as a patient. I came in with frozen shoulder and he plainly laid out several courses that we could take. I truly felt like I had a say in my care. I told him I wanted to avoid surgery. He agreed and in the end, I have nearly full range of motion without surgery! I still have a few weeks of home exercise left, but thanks to his care, I'm getting better every day. Highly recommend!

Dr. Griffin always has the best interest of his patient in mind! He takes his time to explain each situation and allows you time to process and ask questions. He performed a total reverse shoulder replacement for me. In preparation for surgery, he gave me time to think through the process and decide when I was ready for surgery. He explained all the options and we decided which would work best for me. Can’t thank him enough for his professionalism and expertise! I highly recommend him!

I was having pain in my left shoulder with difficulty raising my arm up. Dr.Grffin preformed different activity to the area to evaluate what was going on to the shoulder without incurring more pain. He suggested different ways of treatments to see if it would work before we think about surgery and the treatment worked, no surgery.

Rheumatoid Arthritis had destroyed my shoulder. In Jan. 2018, I had a total shoulder replacement by Dr. Justin Griffin. I regained 100% full range of motion. This week of Feb. 2019, Dr. Griffin will be repairing massive damage to my rotator cuff and my bicep. He is an amazing professional and caring doctor! I would highly recommend him, he is a first class act, the real deal! Dotti Holland

Dr. Griffin is an outstanding doctor. I had been told that orthopedic doctors can have up to a four week wait time for the initial appointment. I found that to be true for a different group but I got an appointment with Dr. Griffin in about a week and half. Dr. Griffin was very thorough with explaining my condition and all available treatments. My minor meniscus tear surgery went great and I had no problems. I would highly recommend Dr. Griffin and the Jordan-Young Institute.

My entire experience, from 1st appt to surgery of my shoulder to follow up, was nothing short of 1st class. The office and OR staff were all fantastic and the results have been amazing. I have since referred several patients to Dr Griffin and they all have a similar experience.

I have a SLAP tear & had pain and difficulty raising my arm above my head. I saw Dr. Griffin for this. He listened to me patiently and carefully. He recommended a cortisone injection. I was hesitant but I did it and also did PT. I appreciate the fact that he used conservative measures rather than rush into surgery. I am pain free and working out again! He referred me to Jordon Moore, PT @ Select PT. He’s awesome! PT works! If I should ever need surgery for this, Dr. Griffin will be my surgeon!
