I have been a patient of Dr. Newman's at the Venice office for several years. I drive an hour just to see him. He is a wonderful doctor very knowledgeable, personable and pleasant to his patients. He does have a lot of students that observe in this office and work with him which I'm not a fan of. To each their own. However the staff at this particular office is very snobby and not friendly at all. It's a shame that the experience is not a positive one due to the staff. They act like Robots.I have worked in the healthcare field 30 plus years and have high expectations. It really makes the doctors look bad and the staff can make or break a practice. I really hope the Sarasota office is better because the doctor is amazing! Today was not a good experience so I felt the need to express.

Dr. Newman does not give a comprehensive skin exam. He also charges to remove facial spots that are deemed cosmetic. I have had Dermatologists in three states who never charged me extra. The removal cost me $75 that I had to pay out of hand. The spot was removed months ago and I still have a scar. He scraped off the spot with a razor! My spots have always been frozen and never left a scar.
