This content was provided by Dr. Alexander "Joshua Alexander, DO, MPH, is a board-certified neurologist with a special interest in the application of osteopathic manipulation for neurological disease associated with pain. Dr. Alexander provides inpatient care for individuals with conditions such as tinnitus, headache, concussion, movement disorders, stroke, chronic pain, neuromuscular disease and neurodegenerative diseases. Osteopathic medicine is alternative health care founded on the principle that many diseases are related to problems within the musculoskeletal framework. Since joining the neurological faculty at UC San Diego Health, Dr. Alexander has developed the Department of Neurosciences’ clinical and research program in integrative neurology. He is an assistant professor and the associate program director of the Neurology Residency Program at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Alexander completed his residency training at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, and his internship at UC Irvine College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, Calif. He is board-certified in neurology. Dr. Alexander is a two-time, back-to-back winner of the Arnold P.
