Dr. Wasselle is board-certified in both general and vascular surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, and Florida Surgical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami and attended the University of South Florida Medical School where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student in Surgery. He completed his general surgical residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa and was an instructor for laparoscopic surgery during his last two years. He devoted himself to a year of research in a Fellowship of Surgical Oncology and Tumor Immunology and gained national recognition for his award-winning work in cancer research. Dr. Wasselle complemented his training by completing a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of South Florida. Dr. Wasselle has complemented his career having authored or co-authored several internationally recognized papers in the fields of general, vascular, oncologic, cardiothoracic and laparoscopic surgery. He has also authored a book chapter on carotid surgery in the textbook entitled Surgical Management of Cerebrovasular Disease. Dr. Wasselle continues to dedicate himself to the total care of the surgical patient by being on the forefront of surgical technology and advances.
