I am so glad we were referred to Dr. Oommen. He was so thorough and patient with my son and I. I was anxious about seeing a local doctor in Beaumont for my son's Epilepsy. The drive to Houston was getting to us and we decided to switch to a local neurologist . However, I was pleasantly surprised to know he was trained at Stanford in Epilepsy. His knowledge, bedside manner and patience made us feel at ease. I would totally recommend him to anyone.

I work in healthcare myself, so I am very biased! This physician goes above and beyond to make sure problems are addressed, and gave the most thorough head-to-toe exam I have ever had in my life. Multiple options for treatment were presented to me, and I was allowed to choose which best suited my life. What doctor does that? This one. Yes, you are going to wait. Because every single patient gets their time with him, you are not rushed in and out like a herd. I don't mind waiting because I know things will get taken care of. I've read other reviews, folks talking about "I'm going to Houston"... good luck with that, you'll wait weeks to months to be seen, not hours, and when you finally get the doc in the office, its wham-bam-thank you insurance! And you'll go home, problem still not solved!

I will not recommend him to my family members. Waited over 3 hours at last appointment and waited 5 days for a refill. Had to leave work on first day back to school because office would not respond to pharmacy, or my 3 phone calls with messages during the day.

I have never had a Dr. that was so thorough and listened to me, as a patient, like Dr. Joseph Oommen does. His mannerisms are kind and he really cares about his patients. I feel like i can ask him anything and if he is familiar with the subject, he answers truthfully and explains his answers.

I am very disappointed that I drove 30 miles for an appointment just to find the office closed due to weather. A simple call would have been nice.

Our experience with Dr. Oommen was like no other physician we have seen. He spent about 1 hour in the room with us the first appointment with him. He listened to everything we had to say and then started suggesting things that might be done. He was very polite and not in a hurry and let us make decisions with his guidance. When my husband was not getting better with treatments, he suggested seeing another physician in Houston he wanted to refer us to. Most physicians don't usually do that.

Dr. Oommen did not even try to help me with my debilitating condition. I'm now basically bedridden. After 5 visits, I gave up on him. I should've gave up after the first visit. Other neurologists were much more helpful.
