Stupidly believed my life mattered to this doctor. If it's not the perfect outcome, he is done with you. Too many like him - don't want to have to problem solve nor see you as a person.

As far as I am concerned Dr. O'Brien is a professional that knows exactly what he is doing. I feel extremely safe in his hands and value his opinion about my wellness. He has performed surgeries on me that has truly taken myself from pain to no pain

Went to Dr O'Brien suffering from herniated disk in lower back, causing extreme pain in left leg and buttocks. I drive cement-mixer and the pills and injections were no longer working. Dr O'Brien reviewed MRI and told me how he could solve this problem. After getting 2nd opinion and a lot of prayer, I decided to go with Dr O'Brien advice and get micro discectomy. His manner and knowledge were very comforting. His staff was very patient, never rude. After 6 weeks I'm back at work. Excellent !

Dr. O'Brien and his direct team define the standard of care. While their expertise and professionalism are unquestionable, the personal attention and quite frankly hand-holding for worry-prone patients like me are reassuring and very welcome in the otherwise "bottom line" focused healthcare environment where patients often feel like cattle. I've seen multiple surgeons in the D.C. Area, but none have met my needs or gained my trust like Dr. O'Brien's team.

Nine weeks ago Dr. O'Brien performed a partial laminectomy on my L4/L5. Prior to the surgery I had excruciating pain through my lumbar region and legs. It was to the point where I could not sit or lay flat without agony. I am so happy to report that I walked out of the hospital the day of the surgery PAIN FREE and I am still pain free. I haven't felt this good in years. Thank you, Dr. O'Brien for giving me back a quality lifestyle!
