He then earned his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Pain/Musculoskeletal Medicine. He holds medical licenses in both the state of New Jersey and New York. Expertise: Dr. Mejia is board certified in Physiatry, a medical specialty also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He is also fellowship-trained in interventional pain management. After completing his residency at NYU/Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, he received fellowship training in Interventional Pain/Musculoskeletal Medicine at UMDNJ/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Nice and friendly enough. No knowledge of Lyme disease and pain. Treats with (basically) Motrin and/or steroids. Steroids are not to be used with compromised immune system or active Lyme. But that was my only option.
