My first visit as a new patient was on 3December2018. That single visit is not sufficient to make a recommendation ; however, the visit was satisfactory and seems to make inroads for future care of my rheumatoid arthritis. I liked his manner and inquiries regarding my condition. He ordered x-rays of my lower back and right knee in order to better understand how to treat my rheumatic maladies. I am waiting to hear the results of those x-rays. At this point I have positive opinions of Dr Martinez.

Dr. Martinez is my favorite rheumatologist, and I’ve been treated by several. He is conservative in his approach but listens to my tales of woe. He is an expert with injections and has brought me much needed relief with well-placed injections. I have only praise for him.

I am impressed with Dr. Martinez's knowledge, ability to communicate and listen, and caring attitude. He respects my thoughts and considers the individuality of my symptoms when creating a personalized treatment plan. Of note, the Midtown office is very busy and has a more hectic pace. However, the Kyle office has a calm atmosphere. I would highly recommend Dr. Martinez.

Excellent bedside manner, listen and explains his decisions. Very cordial with an expansive knowledge of rheumatology. He is now my doctor. If his office had a family practitioner, I would be ecstatic.

First visit was good he seemed concerned and gave detailed feedback on the plan to address my pain. He also was able to see me after having a mix up in which I was not on schedule. Overall good visit!

Dr Martinez has very good bed-side manners. First Rheumatologist I've seen that took the time to listen but also provided detailed and understandable explanation of my condition and treatment plan that is working. Can't ask for more.

Very knowledgeable about my joint issues with hypermobility and was eager to see that I was well informed about the syndrome, what to expect as I age, and ways to remediate my current and future pain issues.

I went to Dr. Joseph Martinez at the suggestion of TxOrtho. I was not impressed one bit. He did no neurological strength tests in his assessment or did he feel the tightness in my neck and shoulders. Then he tells me he doesn't really like to treat chronic patients. What!? He couldn't have cared less about me. Why is this man a Rheumatologist anyway? I DO love all the other doctors I've seen at Tx Ortho however. But this one was the pits!

Waste of time, and money. I have had problems for several months now, with edema, and when I spoke with the doctor, he quite literally looked at my foot *problem isn't even there any more, it is in my chest area*, and listened to my lungs *which have not been a problem*. I was then told from that, that I don't have any problems, but if my "hand swells up the size of a boxing glove", to come back and see him. Not one test done, and did not care to even discuss the feelings further.
