I'm a Northwest native, having grown up in Tacoma. I went to college at Stanford University. I traveled to Boston to go to Harvard Medical School, then stayed there for my internal medicine residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard. I came back west for my cardiology fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco and its Cardiovascular Research Institute. I did further training in interventional cardiology with Dr. John Simpson at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, CA. I started practice here in Bellevue and still have the same job so many years later. I have been the Medical Director of Invasive Cardiology at Overlake Hospital since 2000. Being a part of the Overlake community has been tremendously rewarding. I have a wife and two sons who are the most important people in my life.
I've been very fortunate to have been in practice in Bellevue since 1991. My relationship with many of my patients dates back almost to that time. In many cases, I now see multiple family members of my long term patients. I have also been fortunate enough to care for many members of the Overlake Hospital community, including board members and former CEOs. I try to listen to each patient to discover their important health issues, but also to appreciate who they are and what perspective they have on their own health and medical care. I can be helpful if we can form a partnership working toward the same goals.
