I saw him for my knee. He looked at the x-ray and said "you need a knee replacement" and that was it. He barely acknowledged me--never shook my hand. He may be a good surgeon but his personality turned me off. I'll see someone that will answer a couple of questions and at least shake my hand.

Dr. Burkhardt is an awesome Orthopedic Surgeon. He has operated on me twice & I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO WANTS THE VERY BEST-!! I have been an Emergency & Trauma RN for over 30 years and I believe that Dr. Burkhardt is an outstanding physician with an awesome bedside manner.. He takes his time listening to your questions or concerns. He explains in detail what type of injury you have and what he can do to fix it for you. He is OUTSTANDING & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY THIS NURSE-!

He did a rotator cuff surgery on me that was not successful. My impression is that he is an 'assembly-line' surgeon. What I mean by that is, he is most often successful. However, he demonstrated no willingness and therefore no capacity to diagnose anything that is not obvious. I think he is extraordinarily arrogant and pompous to the point that he is not able to take in new information. On two follow-up appointments after surgery, he never examined me. In fact, no one in his office touched me.

Dr Burkhart did a full right knee replacement Dec. 2014 for me. Jan. 2016 saw him because knee was still very swollen, and had pain. He did not touch my knee, or move it, finally said that what I was experiencing was about the best I could expect. Very poor care for a patient, very poor attitude. I was not upset with him, until he told me this. He had gotten his money from insurance, and did not want to hear that I was having any issues. I left his office and would never let him touch me again.

Great doctor! My Shoulder works better than it did before my injury. Has fixed my entire family in one way or another and we all recovered quickly.
in Marshall, MI |
I was left in worse shape than before my bilateral knee replacement surgeries. Before my surgeries I had no neuropathy. My nerves have been so badly damaged in my legs and feet I can barely walk. Something went wrong but no one will tell me what. I can hear my left knee clicking as I walk. My left leg feels shorter than my right. In the 11 months of follow up he touched my legs only twice when I complained of pain. It was brushed off as tendinitis. Rehab 33 days; outpatient therapy 53.

Does good work. Staff is slow and plan on waiting over 1hr in waiting room every visit.
