Doctor fine, nurse and office personnel-0 stars. first time having been called for pill counts, after mentioning to NP that I sometimes run out. after 5 years of going there all of a sudden I get this request, sounds suspicious to me. Dr. Thompson needs to rein in his staff. I get more personnel attention from Internist, which I trust and busier than Thompson. I can actually text him and he responds, the Internist. Injections have worked and medications do as well to treat my pain. The NPs need a lot of work and will not go back until I can see Dr. Thompson. I cancelled my appointment for this week, and will call and schedule an appointment only on Fridays with Dr. Thompson!! I do not have the time or inclination to adhere to the request for count. I am very busy at work and travel extensively. I will not let this office deter my job or reputation.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This Dr and his staff continues to disappoint. New issues with my health, not properly checked and diagnosed. Wasted appointments to go over recent xrays and mri's because they fail to get the info from the facility. They promise care that they don't follow through with. Dr Thompson is quick to prescribe me more narcotics rather than talk about other possible solutions. I've just recently quit going to this facility after a year of repeated inconsistencies.

Office staff terrible. Doesn't schedule MRI for over six months had to take matter in my own hand. Half of my leg went numb and the other nerve pain, and he didn't even evaluate. He was ready to give me more narcorics. Doesn't try to find a solution to help take care ood the problem, but just prescribes drugs.

I have degenerative osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. That means I live with significant pain. Dr. Thompson has overseen my pain management program for 2 years. He has been EFFECTIVE at reducing my pain and improving my quality of life. He is intellectually brilliant and a caring man. He has a good reputation and other people I know really have great things to say about him. I can highly recommend Dr. Thompson as a expert professional if you ever need this kind of resource.

Dr. Thompson is fair and very conservative with the pain management regimen he's prescribed to me. He could take a bit more time with the patient, as he's never stayed longer in the exam room with me than 10-15 minutes. Was very diligent in getting my medical records from my other doctors that documented my severe medical conditions that render me in severe pain on a daily basis. Once he had the records and knew how severe my conditions were he worked wonders on increasing my quality of life

New from out of town. His main concerns are with the DEA and not with the quality of caring for his patient's. Doesn't treat the patient's pain or even care about the pain. Just how the law tells him how to prescribe medications. He also lets you know "If you don't like it go somewhere else!" Not a good doctor for treating long term chronic pain. His staff is very attentive & caring.

The office staff is terrible. Told my orthopedists, I would be seen that week. Called me with a appointment in two weeks. Meeting with Dr OK. Does not have admitting privileges at any insurance approved hospital. Hospitals just wanted to play let's make a deal. I refused Dr and hospital. Weeks later they are sending me reminders of non appointments. Also, way over charges insurance for services!

I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews posted here about Dr. Thompson. He's been nothing but helpful to me. There isn't enough room to describe everything he's done for me. One thing that some people may not like is his honesty. He tells me straight up what he's thinking. I love that! Sometimes I don't like what I hear. If a doctor only tells me what I want to hear, he probably isn't helping. If you want real help, see Dr. Thompson.

Dr. Thompson is not a push over for pain medication. He tests every patient and makes sure they are in NEED of pain medication. However, once he has documentation of chronic pain his attention to patients is outstanding. He is continually looking for new and better ways to treat chronic pain and ways to improve the lives of pain patients.

I came to him as a patient that moved here from a different location. The treatment I was receiving was working, he initially told me he had no problem keeping me on the sane treatment plan I had been on for years, then at my third appointment he changed everything, required me to do procedures that did not work that I have tried multiple times before and cause me more pain, and he put me on stronger unwanted medication. I continued to see him because I wanted to believe his plan was better. No.

Doctor is dismissive and doesn't listen to patients. Staff is too busy to return phone calls and completely ignored follow up calls for problems after surgery. Heading to emergency room shortly, hopefully I can get my mother into an Ochsner clinic so we don't have to deal with this lack of follow-up care again.

Dr. walked into the exam room, noticed me crying (i was scared to death) and told my mother, who was with me, your daughter is hysterical, i can not treat her!?! Looking back on this appointment, i am even more shocked than i was that day, the simple fact that A DR. would not try to comfort his patient, who is obviously upset, blows my mind! if your looking for bed side manner- Dr.Thompson- In My Humble Opinion-Doesn't have it, sorry....he surely didn't show me any signs he did.
