This content was provided by Dr. Rubenstein Very often a patient can be well with the rest of their body - actually be in pretty good health - but their quality of life is significantly disrupted because of their decreased vision, because of their eye problems. Fortunately most of the things that we confront - most eye diseases - we can fix fairly readily. We tend to run a high success, happy type of surgical specialty. And many patients, most patients, can be fixed with a pretty high success rate surgical procedure. Ophthalmology is very tied to technology so it's a rapidly advancing field. The research and technology is always advancing so there's always new things. So every year it seems like we're changing our way of practicing, we're changing our techniques and surgery. And so I find that really fun and stimulating to practice in a field that's constantly evolving, constantly changing, constantly improving itself.
