Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Coleman "I am a urologic surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of kidney, adrenal, and prostate cancers. Using laparoscopic, robotic, and image-guided therapies, the goal of our team is to provide appropriate curative therapeutic interventions through the organ-sparing approaches of less-invasive surgery. We are interested in the application and careful study of techniques such as robotic (da Vinci) prostatectomy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, partial adrenalectomy, cryo- and radiofrequency ablation, and MRI-guided prostate interventions using state-of-the-art instrumentation and imaging technology. We are also coupling these approaches with basic science research investigations of human cancers to discover optimal therapeutic strategies that can be tailored to each of our patients. I have a special interest in patients with hereditary urologic cancer syndromes, including von Hipple-Lindau, Birt-Hogg-Dube, hereditary papillary kidney cancer, and hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer."

Dr. Coleman was a lifesaver (literally) for me in my cancer treatment AND is a terrific person, too!
in Ballston Spa, NY |
Dr Coleman is an expert. He gives you the facts, the solutions, and answers all your questions. He gets straight to the point with the facts. Since his office is 200 miles away, I was trying to decide between Coleman/Sloan and someone more local. The more information I got , the more obvious in became that Coleman/Sloan is superior. I am extremely pleased I went with Coleman to treat my prostate cancer.
Nanuet, NY |
great physician, focused on patient care and retaining renal function.
Chicago, IL |
Dr. Coleman is an excellent doctor & specialist in his field. I found him online while researching a very rare type of tumor. After calling his office to confirm that he specialized in the type of tumor I was diagnosed with, he returned my call the same day. He is extremely knowledgeable & spends the time to explain treatment plans. Although you may have to wait past the time of your appt, please consider that he is treating other patients who may be dealing with a life threatening condition.
in South Amboy, NJ |
Dr.Coleman had his 2 fellows examine me and review my results from other doctor. Dr. Coleman then examined me gave his opinion for a biopsy. Did the procedure under sedation as another famous doctor tried without...ouch! Not one ounce of discomfort with Dr. Coleman and results where just want he predicted. Have surgery next month to remove cancerous prostrate. he is caring straight forward and answers all questions without rush. Great doctor, team and i am very comfortable and happy to have him.
All staff (reception, nurse, etc) were friendly and helpful. Dr. Gerber did initial consult before we saw Dr. Coleman. Dr. Coleman was clear in his evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment plan explanation. He listened and answered questions. He was patient as we had a Chinese Cantonese interpreter translating as he was speaking as well as when I asked questions. I am very satisfied with initial consult. Very caring.
