Dr. Clabeaux did a complex knee replacement surgery on me. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and competent. He is confident, yet humble. He patiently answered each of my questions. The surgery was a huge success. I am thrilled with the results.

How was your experience with Dr. Clabeaux? In a word: Fantastic. I had right hip replaced in 2011 (posterior entry). I had left hip replaced in 2015 (anterior entry). The left hip feels as though nothing was ever done to it. In fact the (about 2 inch) scar is nearly invisible. As for the right hip, from mid 2015 to mid 2020 I had pain if I walked 1/2 mile or more or stood stationary for more than 5 minutes. I could walk distances with no pain if I walked uphill or if I walked pushing a shopping cart or stroller. Strangely, I was able to play pickleball for 2 to 3 hours a day 3 days a week (MWF) with no pain at all. Then a miracle happened --my granddaughter was born in mid 2019 and I walked with her in her stroller almost daily for 4 to 5 miles. After about a year and about 1200 miles, I noticed that I could walk farther and farther with no pain. (I had also continued pickleball for my regular MWF games.) As of today, 11-27-21, I can walk indefinitely or stand comfort

I'll start by saying that my hip seems to be fine. But, like the May '19 reviewer I was given only a cursory warning that anterior hip replacement could cause nerve damage, which I've discovered is life-altering. I went into hip-replacement excited and optimistic, ready to be free from bone-on-bone pain. I felt great after surgery, right up until my left leg buckled without warning. The OT and PT staff immediately recognized the problem and set up 17 in-home PT visits for me prior to my release. I am 6-months out from surgery. I can now walk without a cane, but stairs are still difficult, other joints are now impacted, and I am not yet close to "normal" mobility. I recognize and accept the possibility of surgical complications. Here is my biggest issue: This office has no protocol established to guide patients through recovery in this well known situation. Once the surgery was over, they were done with me. My rehab planning has been my own responsibility. Be prepared.

Dr Clabeaux is an excellent surgeon. When the other surgeons could not find anything wrong, he listened he looked and decided to do surgery. When he got inside, he discovered my issue, which was what I had been complaining about. He vindicated me. I know that he is serious but I could get him to laugh. I think Dr is outstanding and listens to the patient!

Dr. Clabeaux is a nice guy with a positive outlook. So positive that he failed to disclose the negative risks inherent in the anterior approach, such as nerve damage. I now have severe nerve damage to my right thigh. Additionally, two years and more after bilateral hip replacement the joints still do not function as promised. I walk with pain and running of any kind is out of the question. Dr. Clabeaux has had no answers for this nor has he been able to recommend anyone who might.

In lieu of other descriptions, this physician is a jerk. Worse yet, his entire staff is a nightmare just waiting for you to show up. You'll have to wait for a couple of months to see him because first you are required to see his PA Theresa, who is dumber than a box of rocks. When you finally do see him, he'll find a way to torture you. The office staff is rude. We saw them turn away a woman in a wheelchair who was a few minutes late for an appt. and in desperate need of assistance.

Dr. Clabeaux is a very professional, kind and extremely competent surgeon. He answered all my questions thoroughly and he didn't pressure me to have the replacement that I've needed to have for years. He looked at my xrays with me and showed me how deteriorated my bone was. He saw me more than once too just because I was so nervous about surgery. I had an anterior entry surgery with full replacement and the recovery time was so much less than I imagined. I just wish I had done it sooner.

Four-hour surgery turned into seven and a half with no communication to waiting family. Due to extended surgery time, needed two blood transfusions, stretched ligament, and created five-day recovery in hospital. This was much longer than the anticipated (up to) two days of hospital recovery time. Blood pressure was so low the day after surgery but he still wanted the patient up and around. Another doctor confirmed patient should not.

I needed a hip replaced and met w/ Dr. Clabeaux. He had come recommended and I'm very glad I went with him. He did an anterior replacement and the pain ended the second I awoke from surgery. Recuperation went smoothly. The pain of bone-on-bone grinding is gone for good.
