Dr. Werning did my septoplasty and turbinate reduction 5 months ago. I can’t believe how much better I can breathe. He did a great job opening my air ways and it healed up very nicely. He is very thorough and personable/friendly. So thorough I found out I have a bleeding disorder which he pointed me in the right direction to care for prior to my surgery. He listened to everything I had to say and answered any questions i had for him. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Werning is an excellent doctor and surgeon. My 83 year old father had squamous cell cancer that metastasized to the lymph nodes in his neck. It was growing very quickly. It was diagnosed at the same time as COVID19 hit. He was wintering in Arizona and I took him to Mayo. They would not schedule him for surgery, even though the pandemic hadn't really hit here yet. His radiologist back in Ohio recommended Dr. Werning. I attended the first appointment by Facetime and I was impressed with Dr. Werning's knowledge, tenacity and professional manner. He spent a very long time with my Dad and answered a multitude of questions. He operated on my dad in May and the surgery was nearly 12 hours. I saw my dad in recovery afterward and he was in good spirits and joking. I attended follow up appointments via Facetime and Dr. Werning was always gracious and included me in the conversation. If I need an ENT surgeon, I may just fly back to Ohio to see him.

On May 16, 2019, Dr. Werning removed my thyroid at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. The staff at Flower was exceptional in their care. Dr. Werning visited with me and my family prior to the surgery, discussed the results of the biopsy and procedure with my family after the surgery, and came to the hospital room to see me after I was a little more coherent. The next day, Dr. Werning came, along with his nurse, Nurse Conklin to see if I was ready for discharge, and gave me prescriptions for pain med and levothyroxine. Dr. Werning is the most compassionate, thorough and skilled physician I have ever encountered. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Werning!

Dr. Werning is the consumate professional. He is knowledgeable in his field, talks with you to explain his plan of treatment and carries out the plan of treatment with a high degree of skill. My case was complex and required a lengthy technically difficult surgery. He alerted me to any possible risks of the surgery in advance so I could be prepared if there had been any complications and be prepared to evaluate my outcome based on the cautions he had provided. His skill let me avoid any issues.
