I believe the surgery performed was not necessary as it has NEVER fixed the original issue I was having when I first met with Dr Van Gilder. He performed a spinal fusion with bone grafting and surgical screw implantation. At the one year followup appointment I discussed that I was not seeing ANY improvement to my condition and the only advise I was given was that we could start over with more tests to determine the problem. I did not go with his recommendation as I did not feel he was leading me to a solution to my problem just trying to get further into mine and my insurance company checkbook. Over $95000.00 paid and no relief. 4 years later and I am still dealing with the issues I trusted Dr Van Gilder to fix. Have lost faith in Doctors.

Had cervical complications. Billings Doctor's found nothing. Dr VANGUILDER did his own tests, done surgery felt fantastic. Ready to see him again. Advice if you get a second opinion go to another hospital or county. Doctors will not I repeat will not contradict another doctor's findings especially if they are in same hospital. They will look up your history, exams, tests etc.

Dr Van Gilder is a great Dr and has always been there for me For years I had HORRIBLE Headaches and most Drs had me down as drug searching and wouldn't help but Dr Van Gilder took me serious and helped and found out what was wrong and put in a shunt. A couple of months ago I had to be put in a medical coma Dr Van Gilder came by everyday to check on me. Michelle H.

I have been a patient of Dr VanGilders since 2005. He fixed a huge problem that another Dr left me with. His bedside manor was great. He is very patient and explained what needed to be done and gave me all my options. I have seen him throughout the years for various probles and he was honest about what had to be done.

He was horribly rude and unprofessional! He refused to explain anything, was very biased, almost as if me being in his environment offended him. Horrible person, attitude, everything!!! He was mad because I asked if he could explain things to me, and just rolled his eyes. I've never been so offended by a so called professional. I pity the nurses who are employed by him, and pity anyone who may need help and answers.
