Dr. Tompkins received his Medical Degree from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his residency in both neurology and neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Tulane University School of Medicine. He is certified by the Neurosurgery Board. In 2007, Dr. Tompkins opened his own practice, John R. Tompkins M.D., P.A. He is also a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
